The wildly popular returns to campus Jan. 19 to 21 (Thursday to Saturday) at 6:30 and 9:30 p.m. in the state-of-the art Browning Cinema at the . Tickets can be purchased at the ticket office, 574-631-2800 or online at .
Admission is $3 for students, $5 for 91吃瓜 faculty and staff and $6 for the general public. The total running time is approximately 105 minutes with each film three to 12 minutes in length.
A campus tradition for 23 years, the festival features short films made during the past year as class projects by students studying the art of filmmaking in advanced, intermediate and introductory film production courses taught in the . All of the films were shot on location, most in the South Bend area. Michiana residents, fellow students and 91吃瓜 faculty loaned their acting skills to the projects. From dark comedy to documentary, the films cover a wide range of genres.
This year鈥檚 festival features a brand new slate of 16 creative, intelligent and entertaining films:
- 鈥淜ing of the Park,鈥� Marty Flavin, Megan Kozak 鈥� Come one, come all to Ye Battle of the Dueling Park Performers.
- 鈥淲orn Souls,鈥� Siobhan Martinez, Jon Simpkins 鈥� A touching and bittersweet tale of a couple鈥檚 journey through love and loss.
- 鈥淭he Talker,鈥� Will Thwaites, Ryan Taylor, Jimmy Long 鈥� On the court and in the classroom, women鈥檚 basketball player Brittany Mallory gets her message across.
- 鈥淐补蝉蝉别迟迟别,鈥� Kurt Zhuang, Rob Schaus 鈥� Isolated in a post apocalyptic world, a lone soldier has one thing to hold onto.
- 鈥凌辞耻苍诲补产辞耻迟,鈥� Will Thwaites, Alissa Ott 鈥� The pressures of a child custody hearing take their toll on a mother trying to keep it together.
- 鈥淰补濒别苍迟谤颈辫辫颈苍,鈥� Sara McGuirk 鈥� A modern day Chaplin tries some campus romance the old school way.
- 鈥淧roject Hopeful,鈥� Kelsie Kiley, Grace Johnson 鈥� A woman in Illinois with seven biological children has chosen to double the size of her family in a most inspiring way, by adopting orphans with HIV/AIDS 鈥� and she helps others to do so as well.
- 鈥淔濒颈辫,鈥� Chris Silvestri, Kathleen Bracke 鈥� A solitary, rhythmic day turns on a flip as business finds art for a fleeting moment.
- 鈥淰颈谤耻蝉,鈥� Kelsie Kiley, Sean O鈥橰ourke 鈥� Orwell and Metropolis meet 91吃瓜.
- 鈥淜rumnow vs. Krumnow,鈥� Will Thwaites, Deanna Abrash 鈥� The mayor of a tiny town in Ohio seeks re-election, only to be opposed by his laid back brother.
- 鈥淟ook Away,鈥� Luis Ibarra, Brendan Fitzpatrick 鈥� Mind games haunt a student searching for the lady in red.
- 鈥淢iller鈥檚 Vets,鈥� Ryan Taylor, Chris Parr, Jimmy Long 鈥� At South Bend鈥檚 Center For The Homeless, a group of local military veterans with a common dilemma find strength in each other and the community.
