p. The University of 91吃瓜 will celebrate William Shakespeare鈥檚 437th birthday with a performance by Tony Award-winning actor Brian Bedford.p. Bedford will present his one-man tribute to Shakespeare, 鈥淭he Lunatic, the Lover and the Poet,鈥� at 7:30 p.m. April 23 (Monday) in Jordan Auditorium of the Mendoza College of Business. The performance dramatizes Shakespeare鈥檚 life using the playwright鈥檚 words. Bedford has performed the show around the world, including more than 1,000 cities in the United States and Canada.p. Bedford studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. He performed 鈥淗amlet鈥� at the age of 21 at the Liverpool Repertory Company, which led to highly successful performances in London鈥檚 West End and at Stratford upon Avon. He has played many leading roles at the Stratford Festival of Canada.p. Considered one of North America鈥檚 leading classical actors, Bedford was inducted into the American Theatre Hall of Fame in 1997. Among roles performed off stage, he provided the voice of the title character in Walt Disney鈥檚 鈥淩obin Hood.鈥漰. Bedford鈥檚 performance is presented by SummerShakespeare at 91吃瓜, which is planning its second annual summer performance, 鈥淢uch Ado About Nothing鈥� July 25-29.
