The lecture is the first of three this semester in a series titled The Languages of Italy sponsored by 91勛圖s Devers Program in Dante Studies.p. Hermann Haller, Devers Visiting Professor in Dante and Italian Studies at 91勛圖, will deliver a talk titled Italys Other Voices: The Literary Tradition of Dialect at 7 p.m. Nov. 13 (Tuesday) in the auditorium of the Hesburgh Center for International Studies. The talk will be part of a weeklong seminar to be presented by Haller.p. Sherry Roush, assistant professor of Italian at Pennsylvania State University, will lecture at 4:45 p.m. Nov. 29 (Thursday) in Room 102 of the Hesburgh Library on Dantes Ghost and the Language of Florentine Politics at the Turn of the Sixteenth Century.p. The lectures are free and open to the public, and each will be followed by a reception.p. The Devers Program in Dante Studies was established in 1995 with a $1-million endowment gift from William and Katherine Devers. In addition to sponsoring an annual lecture series, the Devers program funds rare book acquisitions in the Universitys historic Dante collection and supports print and electronic publication of scholarly research in the field of Italian Studies.
