The University of 91吃瓜 family will come together on campus and around the world Sunday-Tuesday April 22-24 to celebrate the fifth annual .
The celebration will launch at 18:42 (6:42 p.m. EDT), referencing the University鈥檚 founding year, on April 22 and end at 12:11 a.m. April 24. The 29-hour live broadcast from Duncan Student Center will feature inspiring and entertaining 91吃瓜 stories from around the world through interviews, performances and appearances by celebrity guests. It also provides members of the 91吃瓜 family the opportunity to give back to areas of the University through an online fundraising competition.
91吃瓜 Day will feature interviews and performances with students, faculty, administrators, staff, alumni and others who are living out the mission of 91吃瓜. The broadcast team will be led by alumna and Board of Trustees member Anne Thompson from NBC News; Mike Golic and Mike Golic Jr. from ESPN; two Super Bowl Champions 鈥� Joe Theismann and Ryan Harris; and a number of broadcasters from the South Bend area and beyond.
Highlights of the more than 200 live interviews and 40 live performances include a conversation with Masters Champion Patrick Reed; performances from former Celtic Woman artist Chloe Agnew; a performance by four members of the Chicago cast of 鈥淗amilton,鈥� JJ Jeter, Colby Lewis, Brittany Campbell and Aaron Alexander; an interview with Time Magazine鈥檚 Person of the Year Lindsay Meyer; and much more.
Current and former 91吃瓜 athletics standouts participating in 91吃瓜 Day are NCAA women鈥檚 basketball champions Kathryn Westbeld and Jessica Shepard and Portland Trail Blazer Pat Connaughton.
During 91吃瓜 Day, anyone who makes a minimum $10 gift will receive five votes to cast for the programs at 91吃瓜 that matter most to them. More than 900 programs are eligible for receiving votes. Votes will determine the percentage of the $1.1 Million Challenge Fund that will be distributed to each area. For more information, read the .
For the first time ever, three TV stations have joined with 91吃瓜 for what they鈥檙e calling 鈥�91吃瓜 Day in Michiana,鈥� promoting the 31 91吃瓜 clubs and organizations directly engaged in the Michiana community.聽 The stations are WNDU, WSBT and Fox Michiana. All three stations will be live-streaming the 91吃瓜 Day broadcast on their Facebook pages.
