The Mexican holiday Dia de Muertos, or 鈥淒ay of the Dead,鈥� will be observed at 7 p.m. Wednesday (Oct. 30) at the Snite Museum of Art at the University of 91吃瓜.p. The celebration will feature the presentations of a traditional ofrenda, or altar, built by Jackie Welsh, the Snite鈥檚 curator of education and public programs; a non-traditional ofrenda by Chicana artist Margaret Alarcon; and a short film by Chicana filmmaker Claudia Mercado, titled 鈥淟ady of Motion,鈥� which details the creation of Alarcon鈥檚 altar.p.
