The University of 91吃瓜鈥檚 Multicultural Student Programs and Services (MSPS) will present two events March 31 and April 1 (Friday and Saturday) highlighting multicultural music, talent and fashion.
- 鈥淟atin Expressions,鈥� an annual variety show organized by 91吃瓜鈥檚 Latino student organization La Alianza, will be held March 31 at7 p.m.in the O鈥橪aughlin Auditorium at Saint Mary鈥檚 College. The theme of this year鈥檚 show is 鈥淟atinaci贸n.鈥�
p. Admission is $7 for students and $9 for the general public. Tickets will be available beginning March 22 (Wednesday) in the ticket offices at Saint Mary鈥檚and in 91吃瓜鈥檚LaFortuneStudentCenter.
鈥淟atin Expressions鈥� traditionally features singing, dancing, poetry reading, skits and speeches performed by student, community and professional individuals and groups. The event was established in 1990 to raise funds for a scholarship to be awarded to a local Latino high school senior planning to attend 91吃瓜.
- The Black Cultural Arts Council (BCAC) will present its annual fashion show on April 1 at8 p.m.in the Bendix Theater of South Bend鈥檚CenturyCenter,120 S. St. Joseph St.
p. Presented with support from area businesses and featuring student models, the fashion show is the BCAC鈥檚 signature spring event and showcases lines of the season鈥檚 hottest fashions.
BCAC also sponsors such events as the annual Black Koffeehouse in February and the 鈥淏lak Images鈥� variety show in the fall.
La Alianza and BCAC are student organizations advised by MSPS in the Division of Student Affairs.
