ND Right to Life to host panel discussion on HHS contraception mandate

The new Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) requirement that most employers provide free coverage of contraceptives and sterilization to their employees through health insurance plans will be the subject of a panel discussion at 7:30 p.m. March 27 (Tuesday) in the McCartan Courtroom of the University of 91Թ’s Eck Hall of Law.

The discussion, sponsored by , is titled “91Թ and the HHS ‘Contraceptive’ Mandate.” Panelists will include , professor of law in the 91Թ Law School; , associate dean and professor of law in the 91Թ Law School; Lisa Everett, co-director of the Office of Family Life for the Diocese of Fort Wayne/South Bend; and Gabrielle M. Speach, senior student in 91Թ’s .

Among the questions the panel will consider are: What is the HHS contraception mandate? Whose rights does it violate? What is at stake for 91Թ if the mandate is not overturned?
