
On Sept. 27 (Saturday), the University of 91Թ’s and the will partner with to host a day-long parenting conference, “Nourishing Parents for Child Well-Being,” bringing together scholars, practitioners and professionals who work with children and families. As part of the , presenters at the workshop will address a variety of topics, including birth, breastfeeding, sleep, discipline and adult-child relationships. Local parents, child care workers, teachers, businesses and other community members are invited to attend the day-long event at the 91Թ Conference Center at McKenna Hall. Registration is $75 and includes all workshop materials, refreshments and luncheon. Attendees may register online at or at the door on the day of the event.
As part of the Nourishing Parents for Child Well-Being conference, two free events on Sept. 26 (Friday) are also open to the public:
- Refreshments and stand-up comedy viewing of Jim Gaffigan’s “Mr. Universe” at 7 p.m.
- A screening of “The Milky Way,” a film by, for and about women documenting breastfeeding at 8:30 – 10 p.m.
, professor of psychology at 91Թ and author of the forthcoming book, “Evolution, Early Experience and Human Development,” will be a featured speaker at the conference and is available for media interviews prior to the event.
