A 20-year old University of 91吃瓜 student died Wednesday (Oct. 27) in an accident that occurred on a practice football field when a film tower fell over.
The accident happened at approximately 4:50 p.m. at the LaBar Practice Complex, located on the southeast side of campus. The student was filming 91吃瓜 football practice for the Department of Athletics from a hydraulic scissor lift when the incident occurred. The student was transported to Memorial Hospital in South Bend, where he later died.

The cause of the accident is under investigation. The University is making pastoral care and grief counseling available to students.
The identity of the student is not being released pending notification of family members.
