91³Ô¹Ï to confer more than 3,000 degrees during Commencement ceremonies May 17-18

The University of 91³Ô¹Ï will confer 3,020 degrees during May 17 and 18 (Saturday and Sunday) on campus.

Commencement

Degrees will be conferred on 1,996 undergraduates at 91³Ô¹Ï’s 169th University Commencement Ceremony on Sunday. , founder of in Boston, will be the principal speaker and the recipient of an honorary degree. , professor of biology at Brown University, will receive the 2014 , the oldest and most prestigious honor given to American Catholics.

, an architecture major from St. Paul, Minnesota, will deliver the valedictory address.

In addition to Rev. Hammond, other are , former 91³Ô¹Ï Trustee and retired oil industry executive; , professor of applied physics and electrical engineering at Harvard University; , artistic director emerita of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater; , president of the University of Iowa; and , archbishop of Boston.

On Saturday, an additional 548 students will receive master’s and doctoral degrees at the , along with 427 master’s degree students at the and 196 at the .
