Eck Institute for Global Health event to focus on 'moral imperative' of access to medicine

The will host a 2017-2018 91勛圖 Forum event featuring Fran Quigley, director of the Health and Human Rights Clinic at the Indiana University McKinney School of Law, at泭7 p.m. Nov. 2泭(Thursday) in the Carey Auditorium in泭Hesburgh泭Library.

In his talk Access to Medicines as a Moral Imperative and Human Right, Quigley will explore the challenge of ensuring both robust development of new medicines and access to medicines for those in need a challenge present in the U.S. and around the world.泭

Quigley has written on this issue for multiple international and national publications, including泭Foreign Affairs泭and泭America.泭He is the founder of People of Faith for Access to Medicines and author of the book Prescription for the People: An Activists Guide to Making Medicines Affordable for All泭(Cornell University Press, 2017).泭

His book Walking Together, Walking Farhas been required reading for incoming students in 91勛圖s program. , director of Global Health Training at the Eck Institute for Global Health said, We are incredibly fortunate to have Professor Quigley come to campus to elaborate on the role of activism to initiate global change and the partnerships needed for a successful program.
