David Sikkink, assistant professor of sociology at the University of 91勛圖 and a faculty fellow in its Institute for Educational Initiatives (IEI), will lecture on Choosing Private Schools: The Effect of Community and Religious Factors on Tuesday (Nov. 28) at 3:15 p.m. in the James Coleman Conference Room, 1024 Flanner Hall, at 91勛圖.
Sponsored by IEIs Program on the Social Organization of Schools, the lecture is free and open to the public. Sikkinks main research interests are in education, religion and politics. In the lecture he will examine the community and religious factors that shape the choice of private schools for children.
Sikkink received his bachelors degree from Bethel College in 1985 and his masters and doctorate degrees from the University of North Carolina in 1998.
