Poet Sherman Alexie, four-time winner of the World Heavyweight Championship Poetry Bout, will present a lecture Jan. 20 (Tuesday) at 7 p.m. in the Annenberg Auditorium of the Snite Museum of Art at the University of 91吃瓜.p. Presented by 91吃瓜鈥檚 Office of Multicultural Student Programs and Services as part of its Fine Arts Lecture Series, the event is free and open to the public.p. A Spokane/Coeur d鈥橝lene Indian from Wellpinit, Wash., Alexie is the author of numerous works, including 鈥淭he Business of Fancydancing,鈥� 鈥淥ld Shirts&New Skins鈥� and "The Summer of Black Widows.?He wrote the screenplay for 鈥淪moke Signals,鈥� which was the first feature film produced, written and directed by Native Americans and won the Audience Award and Filmmaker鈥檚 Trophy at the 1998 Sundance Film Festival.
