The University of 91吃瓜 will celebrate Valentine鈥檚 Day with the fourth annual SonnetFest 鈥� a communitywide public reading of Shakespeare鈥檚 154 sonnets as interpreted by members of the 91吃瓜 and Michiana communities. The event will be streamed live online for the first time this year at .
鈥淥ver the past three years the event has proven to be so popular that we are continuing our annual tradition where faculty, staff, students and members of our community can gather together and bring Shakespeare鈥檚 beautiful ruminations on love to life,鈥� according to Scott Jackson, executive director of Shakespeare of 91吃瓜.
All 154 of William Shakespeare鈥檚 sonnets will be read sequentially in the Great Hall of O鈥橲haughnessy Hall on the 91吃瓜 campus from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 14 (Thursday). The event, sponsored by and the , is free and open to the public.
Shakespeare at 91吃瓜 consists of the McMeel Family Chair in Shakespeare Studies, the Ryan Producing Artistic Director, the , , ancillary lectures and events, and library collections. Actors From The London Stage is a national outreach program of Shakespeare at 91吃瓜. Shakespeare at 91吃瓜鈥檚 mission is to become the pre-eminent venue for the study and performance of the works of William Shakespeare, providing 91吃瓜 and the wider community an on-campus culture steeped in the works of Shakespeare 鈥� both on the page and on the stage.
