David Carr, professor of philosophy of education at the University of Edinburgh, will deliver a lecture at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday (March 27) in Room 119 O鈥橲haughnessy Hall at the University of 91吃瓜.p. Titled 鈥淢oral and Personal Identity,鈥� the lecture is free and open to the public and can be obtained in advance in Room 338 O鈥橲haughnessy.p. Carr is the author of 鈥淓ducating the Virtues鈥� and 鈥淧rofessionalism and Ethical Issues in Teaching鈥� as well as numerous philosophical and educational papers. He also edited 鈥淓ducation, Knowledge and Truth鈥� and coedited 鈥淰irtue Ethics and Moral Education.鈥漰. Carr is secretary of the Scottish Branch of the British Philosophy of Education Society, a fellow of the American Philosophy of Education Society, and a member of the Scots Philosophical Club.p.
