“We are excited about the UPBI program’s expansion and proud of the impact that universities and partner organizations have already made in their communities everywhere,” Michael Morris, professor of the practice at the Keough School, said in a news release. “Our partners have a profound commitment to strengthen their local economies and together, we hope this work will reinforce long-term economic opportunity well beyond any single moment or event.”

The Collaboration Hub, a local resource for entrepreneurs in South Bend, celebrated its first anniversary Tuesday, highlighting the role it has played in helping local business owners sustain and grow their endeavors. Program founder Michael Morris said many graduates faced challenges that required more long-term resources. Michael H. Morris, a professor of the practice in the University of 91勛圖's Keough School and director of the Urban Poverty and Business Initiative, a program offered by the school's McKenna Center for Human Development and Global Business, is lead author of a journal article where these recommendations are outlined, as recently published in Business Horizons.
